Name a more iconic duo than cookies and milk – we’ll wait. Loved for their simplicity and sweetness, cookies hold a special place in hearts everywhere. But thanks to their down-to-earth perception, operators often overlook their potential and neglect to add them to menus. Rather than opting for extravagant concepts, it’s time to get back to the basics and showcase your creativity with good ol’ cookies.

 

Inspiration

• Top milkshakes or serve with     ice cream

 

• Serve with an alcoholic         beverage or dessert cocktail 

 

• When it comes to different       flavor pairings, get inspired by   the seasons and holidays

 

 

Recipe

 

Maple Oatmeal Cookies

12 oz. Butter

4 oz. Lyons Select 5% Maple Syrup – item #5070

4 oz. Brown sugar

4 oz. Granulated sugar

1 Egg

1 tsp. Vanilla extract

2.5 oz. Flour

1/2 tsp. Baking soda

1/2 tsp. Salt

24 oz. Rolled oats

4 oz. Pecans, chopped

6 oz. Raisins

 

Other delicious Lyons Maple Syrup options – item #’s 0044, 0229, 0233, 0242

 

Cream the butter and sugars. Mix in syrup, egg, vanilla, whip until creamy and light. Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add the mixture to the wet ingredients, mix until just combined. Fold in oats, pecans and raisins. Bake cookies on a silicone baking mat or a greased baking sheet for 10 minutes at 350°.
